Our blogs are located within our forums at Forums.TCGplayer.com. If you are registered for our forums, you are ready to blog! Each user can post, customize, and share their blogs and thoughts with our users. Just visit the blog homepage for more details and options.
Anyone who is a member of our forums. This means that even if you write at another site or have your own personal blog, you can still be promoted as a blogger at TCGplayer.com. All that is required is that you post exclusive material for our readers, and that you are a member of our forums.
TCGplayer is looking for content to suppliment our regular articles and features. You can discuss a decklist, the metagame or format, or even spotlight a single card/mini/figure. Anything with strategic content (or even issues/opinions pieces) is acceptable. Just be sure you don't post only a deck asking for advice, or a have/want trades list in the blogs. Those kinds of posts belong in our forums specificially designated for those discussions.
Since our blogs are part of our forums, you can use BB code to customize your blog posts. You can format your post just as you would any document, and even add images or cards to your blog. You can even customize your blogs using the Blog Control Panel.
Also, many of our games have options on our pages for inserting deck and army lists, cards and minis, and more into pages. Be sure to check out your specific game for tips on how to include this kind of content and links.
TCGplayer is going to do our part to promote your blog by featuring it on the front page of our site if it meet certain criteria, (namely length of post, strategic value, writing quality, etc.) but there are always a few things that you can do to make sure your post is seen by as many people as possible:
Who is eligible to become a TCGplayer.com Featured Blogger?
Anybody capable of writing entertaining material about gaming. This means that even if you write at another site or have your own personal blog, you can still be promoted as a blogger at TCGplayer.com. Simply begin blogging, and then let us know that you're interested!
TCGplayer.com is looking to hire Featured Bloggers for our gaming content sites. This means that if you're somebody who enjoys writing, and can do so in a clear and entertaining manner, we may have a position available for you. Simply start blogging and we will notify you if we think your blogs are the kind of content we are looking for from a TCGplayer.com Featured Blogger. It is important that you file your blogs under the correct game category, as we evaluate each blogger according to the game(s) they want to write about.
Only if you have already been hired as a Featured Blogger. If we see a good blog by a community member we will spotlight it on our homepage of the releated game. We do this to drive additional visitors towards that blog so that we can evaluate how the article performs and the communities response. All of this information is used to help us decide if we think we should approach that blog writer to become a paid feature blogger.
Payment is based on a per word rate over a weekly time frame, and can vary from writer to writer. Write as much or as little as you want in each blog post, as often as you want. (Please note, blog posts from our paid Featured Bloggers must be a bare minimum of 500 words to be considered, and should be properly formatted and edited.) At the end of each week you simply add up your total word count. Pay rate is based upon your community feedback and overall popularity and the quality of your posts.
