TCGPLAYER FEATURED BLOGGING FAQ
Who is eligible to become a TCGplayer.com Featured Blogger?
Anybody capable of writing entertaining material about gaming. This means that even if you write at another site or have your own personal blog, you can still be promoted as a blogger at TCGplayer.com. All that is required is that you post exclusive material for our readers at
My.TCGplayer.com. The Blog section gives you an outlet to bounce back and forth between many different forms of writing. Reports, issues and opinions, deck analysis etc.
How is payment decided?
Payment is based on a per word rate over a weekly time frame. However, your Blog post must be a
bare minimum of 500 words to be considered, and should be properly formatted and edited. We have switched over to blogging instead of a weekly editorial system to give writers the added benefit of flexibility: Write whenever you want. Write as much or as little as you want in each blog post. At the end of each week you simply add up your total word count. Pay rate varies from writer to writer and the overall rate of pay is based upon your community feedback and overall popularity and the quality of your posts.
How do I become a Featured Blogger?
If you have no past experience to reference then simply start blogging at
My.TCGplayer.com and we will notify you if we think your Blogs are worthy of us promoting as a TCGplayer.com Featured Blogger. It is important that you file your Blogs under a "Related To Game" header, as we evaluate each blogger according to the game(s) they want to write about. It also helps greatly if you customize your Blog section to reflect your individual style. Add an avatar, background image, a song or two, even a YouTube video. In short, have fun!
My Blog got spotlighted, do I get Paid?
Only if you have already been hired as a Featured Blogger. If we see a good blog by a community member we will spotlight it on our homepage of the releated game. We do this to drive additional visitors towards that blog so that we can evaluate how the article performs and the communities response. All of this information is used to help us decide if we think we should approach that blog writer to become a paid feature blogger.
